How to Clean and Maintain Macrame Products

Macrame products stay beautiful over time with proper care. Here is a detailed guide.

Regular cleaning

Weekly:

• Use a soft brush to gently dust
• Can use vacuum on lowest setting

Monthly:

• Gently shake the piece outdoors to remove dust
• Check if any knots have loosened

Washing when needed

1. Soak in warm water (30°C) with mild soap for 15-20 minutes
2. Gently agitate, DO NOT twist
3. Rinse with clean water 2-3 times
4. Gently squeeze with a cotton towel
5. Lay flat to dry, avoid direct sunlight

Important notes

• Avoid machine washing — it will damage knot structure
• Avoid direct harsh sunlight — fibers will become brittle
• Do keep in well-ventilated areas to prevent mold
• Do rotate hanging position periodically to prevent uneven fading
